Question Fiat Sub-woofer

Hi,

I have just ordered the cable that goes into a fiat sub-woofer part no:51728055. Does anyone one know if this cable runs straight from the sub to the connect+ head unit, Coz on eper it does seem to show that it does

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

im not exactly certain but as far as i can remember the only spare socket on the rear of nav+ is the one that the multiplayer fits into so i would doubt it does but dont quote me on that ! i bought a twin fly 12" sub and wired in a seperate 1000 watt amp by tapping into the exsisting speaker wires and adding an rca convertor if thats any help !"

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

From what I remember when we took the Schumi to bits, to fit the CN+, the sub-woofer loom connects to the back of the stereo/CN+ directly (it's a single wire into the middle of the auxillary connector) to send a "SUB ON" signal. Then, you need to unplug the speaker junctions (left hand side of dash), and route the new cable down to the boot, and plug into the sub.

Sub power connections come, I believe, from the junction unit in the boot on the passenger side. This will be fused I expect.

Thanks for replys,
where exactly do I find the speaker junction, and do I re-connect it after running the sub cable and installing the sub-woofer.

Thanks

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

I can't remember precisely where it is, I'm sure if you trace the speaker leads past the back of the upper glovebox you'll find it .

From what I remember the lead goes to the sub then comes back, to complete a loop.

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

Hi
I got my cable and there is a large clip that goes into the back of the sub, but there is also a another wire which comes off that which is suppose to go into the rear control box(driver side), tried it and it doesn't fit.
Can anyone with a fiat sub help me out and find where the wire goes I was told that it goes into another control box which sits just behind the passenger side rear lamp. But mine don't have this

Thanks

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

I went into my fiat garage and had a look at an Abarth with a sub, and the wire from the sub loom plugs into a branch control box on the passenger side which sits just behind the sub. Mine doesn't have this branch control box at the rear, it has one on the drivers side, but thats for the parking sensors. Does this mean I will have to order the branch control which is part number 46801947.

My car doesn't have any spare plugs on the rear seat loom to plug into the branch control. But then again the loom has not been altered for option 718 which includes the sub, it only changes for option like rear airbage or easy go. But it doesn't show on eper that the branch control is connected to the car loom therfore it might just stand alone and the sub just plugs into it. I have ask fiat but they don't know so they said they will take of the sub out of the Abarth and have a look for me.

Sorry for my bad English..
Tha cable that you have is only for the models that have plug clip in the back of the car.. in the same side that the Sub should be installed...
The Correct cable is about 3metres long.. In one side the large Clip for connecting the sub and the other side is divided in 2 clips.
I the driver side you have to unscrew the litle pocket ...
in there you will find another (White color) clip that comes directly from the Cd player... Is exact the same size like the one of the cable... Uplag it and connect the same cable clip in his place.. Then connect the remaining cable clip with the clip cames from the cd player... That all.. And remember go to your Local dealer for activating the sub with the examiner.. oherwise is not going to work.. ( Working for 3 secs and then stops)
Hope i help.

This is the correct cable for my model and it has that little clip that (i think) needs to be pluged into something behind the sub, or do I just leave it. Once it's connected at the front then connected to the sub should it work without plugging it into anything.

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

Fiat kindley took out the sub of an Abarth in the showroom and found that it connects to a unit which sits behind the sub. But the unit seemed to have wires which go into the car's loom
They said i should get a power source from somewhere (maybe battery) and fues the line, this would be to power it.

Re: Fiat Sub-woofer

Finally fit the sub and all is working great, and sounds really good as i've also upgraded the speakers to hi-fi ones, the sound is much better than i thought The subs internal amplfier is good as it sorts out the bass correctly, and volume output is also higher and louder

I had to run the sub-loom down to the left side of the dash and plug the speaker cable into it, as well as the cable that run from the headunit also plugs into the sub loom cable. Then I had to run a wire from the fuse box (didnt really wanna go to the battery) to the sub and fuse the line, this is to power it and all works fine now and i didn't need to get it activated by the examiner

I also had to order a new left hand side boot lining as it is different for when the sub is fitted and a sub cover.
