(T) Connect NAV+ 9.8 Update CD & Setup CD

The 9.8 can be burned yourself to CD-R. The only thing you need is a setup disk - once again, do not use a dealer but see one of us on here. I have already sent a few out, and it is about 8Meg zipped, so can easily be sent over MSN as well.

Connect Nav is the smaller screen, not in colour; Connect Nav + is the larger coloured screen. This upgrade is purely for + model

Ok, had a few requests for setup disk recently.

It is only an 8Mb zipped file, so I will try and upload it to my Gallery space at some point this weekend - I have already used 135Mb so shouldn't be an issue

So I presume this on a Nav+ unit, and not a Nav?

Also, can you confirm that you burnt the file using 'Disk at Once 96' format onto a blank CD-R?

As for removing CD, how about turning car off, keep button on the eject button, then switch on the unit. It may force an ejection? I am sure I have had a disk stuck once, and I tried all options to get it out - it did eventually.

I dont know the differnce beetwen nav+,and nav ,,,I just bought car from italy 2 days ago,it is used car 2 years old,,all manual is on italian so...And first that i did is to make upgrade,silly me....Yes i use disc at once 96,,,i do everithing by the hints...
I cant turn it on or off it just do it by himself(computer),,,i will try.....we will stay in touch...

Does it have a large colour screen in the CD unit? That is Nav+

Yes it has big colour screen,the version was 7.1.....
T try everythig but i cant stop cd,i cant eject him,i cant turn on or off,,,,When i turn off the car,it just keep going and going....
Can I remove cd manuali,can i open the player somehow??

I just KNOW I'm gonna look stupid, doubly so as it's my first post on this forum but...... Where do I find the software version number I'm running on my Connect+? Thanks...

Easy enough to spot once you know where to look - as you turn on the unit, and get the blue FIAT screen, it is bottom right [I think ]

Thanks Stuart, 'spotted it this afternoon, having been through all the menus...You are right, it's bottom right of the start up screen. I have 9.8, which according to this thread has improved accuracy on the voice commands. I don't know how bad she can be, but my lady usually warns me of a junction "in half a mile" when there's about 300 yards to go....

You do have Nav+ and not Nav?

What happens if you try to reflash?

The flasher comes to 20 % and sistem its turn of vith "bup" sound on the spekers.
Nothing else its hapeens, only this again and again and again

How did you burn the CD-R, and from what file?

I think it had to be with Nero, disk-at-once format.

Burn with Nero, disk-at-once format, file from stilo-club France !
I'm doing everything "by the book", dovnload file, burn with nero disc-at once format, turn key on, get out SIM card, pres eskape, put cd in, when se cd eror pres eskape, turn of connect, get out car key, turn on connect and flasher stop at 20%

Just upgraded from 8.1 to 9.8 following the instructions on page 1 of this thread and it worked first time

Initial impressions are that:

1 - some of the menus are different and the Sat Nav seems easier to programme

2 - Sat Nav picked up my location outside my house more accurately than before and the map draw seems more stable

Definitely a recommended upgrade (so far )
