Unknown controls...

Hi all,

I have bought a 2004 Fiat Stilo Active Sport 1.6. Unfortunately I have all the documents, apart from the User Manual !!

The vehicle has a panoramic sunroof, on the ceiling mounted control unit the two buttons on the left and the cental dial control the sunroof. However does anyone know the functions of the two buttons on the right hand (driver) side ? One looks like some sort of alarm button, and the other has a picture of a car that looks like it is being towed ??

Also any ideas what the 'P' button is near the mode button on the right hand side near the stearing wheel ? Is this something to do with Parking sensor or Parking light ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok, the alarm buttons allow you to deactivate the interior sensors PLUS if your car is being towed whilst it is locked/alarmed, you are able to turn off the movement sensor [or whatever it is called when someone wants to jack up the car ]

P is for parking light.

Lol, "Anti-jacking" sensors I believe

When you push one of the alarm buttons, and deactivate the appropriate sensor, remember they will come back on when you next turn the ignition on. Also, for the Parking lights, remember to hold the P button down for a second or two to turn them on or off

You're very lucky to pick up a Stilo with the factory fit alarm.

Does it chirp and the indicators flash when you lock it ?

Re: Unknown controls...

Are the alarms rare Argonought? Im on my second Stilo and both have had the alarms as standard.

Did you know when the alarm has gone off it comes up on the display saying that there has been an attampted theft!

When I used to have the dog in the back the button to turn off the sonics proves really useful... that said Ive had a Seat Altea and that also had that abilty with a button down on the B piller.

Re: Unknown controls...

Alarms are rare in that they were never fitted as standard, so each Stilo had the option of it from the factory. Most factory-installed alarms have the option of disabling the internal ultrasonics, even as far back as a Citroen Xantia!

It's not something that really bothers me, my car had one (found the spec list sticker in my car the other day!) fitted at the factory along with it's other options, but if it didn't I don't think I'd go and get one fitted.
