Throttle body cleaned....but.

Hello, I was following the stilo guides for cleaning the throttle body and cleaned it this morning.
It made a hell of difference in the initial stages, but the revs have been a little eratic.
It starts at very high revs, about 1600, and then drops to about 1000, then seems to fluxuate between 700 - 1000.

Hopefully it will sort it self out, I double checked all the connections and all were ok.

Any ideas whit it would be a little eratic.

Thanks in advance.

Merry christmas and have a great new year.

Re: Throttle body cleaned....but.

There is a examiner process for learning the throttle, also I trust you have had the throttle body/MAP software update.

Re: Throttle body cleaned....but.

Yep all the updates have been done.
Seemed a little better earlier on so maybe the ecu is still learning the best settings?

Re: Throttle body cleaned....but.

If you have cleaned it then the throttle 'flap' has to learn it's new posistion...even by removing a few bits of 'sludge' the position has altered.

You could try disconnecting ECU for 10 minutes then turning ignition on fot one minute (dont start car),after this turn ignition off for one minute then start car (dont touch throttle let it idle) until cooling fan cuts in then switch off.(this process applies especially to Brava/bravo owners!)

Then take car for drive & see how it is,if its no better a throttle phase learning should be carried out.

Thank you very much for the advice.
I will give it a few more days and see how it goes, if no good I will take your guidance and disconnect the ECU.

Thanks again.

Quick question, which 2 plugs do you mean, I think you mean the two large rectangular blocks next to each other which lever off.

Please confirm.

Thanks.

Merry christmas.

Re: Throttle body cleaned....but.

UPDATE...

All is well, I think its still learning as the revs are a little eratic but gets better every time I drive it.

I will carry on driving as normal, hopefully it sorts it self out.

Anything else I can do T14086/advice.

Thanks in advance.
