(T) steering noises

Hi,

ive noticed a kind of strange noise from the steering, its hard to describe but it sounds like a kind of whistling noise when you turn the wheel, usually when stationary or when manouevering to park. its a really low whistle it makes so im not sure if its normal or not.

something else sounds like a brake rubbing when reversing around a corner with full lock.

any thoughts on the above???

My dynamic makes a noise which is sort of a squeak/creaking when I turn the wheel fast or when it has just been started up, haven't mentioned it to the dealer yet. I think there is another post on here about the same problem and they had the steering column replaced.

The noise you describe sounds like the DualDrive power steering - it's electric rather than hydraulic so it only kicks in when it has to rather than running contiuously. As a result you tend to hear the motor running when stationary or manouvering.

Exactly as above, only if you here a whirring all the time your electric radiator fan is probably going even when the engine is cold! I've got my booked in to have this fixed!

ive noticed a squeel when i reverse or drive forward very slowly with the wheel turned, really low though, i reckon one of the front brake pads is rubbing when the wheel turns, any ideas???
