Turbo boost sensor

I am correct in understanding that the turbo boost sensor is located below the n/s headlight and has two vacuum pipes connected to it?
If it is faulty does it log a fault on the engine management system? cos mine hasn't!
Finally can you get one anywhere for less than the £40.73 that fiat want?

Re: Turbo boost sensor

If it's where you say it is then you need to get it moved up by the side of the battery box (especially in this weather ).

When mine was a problem it logged an error and also lit the engine warning light. The light should go out on it's own once the fault clears and the turbo comes on line

At that price I think you'd make a good profit if you put it on eBay

Re: Turbo boost sensor

My engine fault warning light and message come on plenty of times, sometimes with loss of power, other times not, but always gone out again after either changing gear or releasing foot off accelerator.....no fault been stored through or at least thats what garage said, but don't belieive a word they say any longer.
Yes sensor still below headlight....propably why it keeps coming on in this weather.....sounds like another job for weekend!

Re: Turbo boost sensor

Mine has just broke, probably due to the daft place its stuck in by Fiat, i've moved it near the battery but alas its knackered so its a new one for me.
Fiat stealers originlly quoted me £120 for a new one, but now i've managed to get a brand new one for £36.87 which although still over priced for what it is, is tad better than paying over a ton!!!!. Hopefully once is fitted my hesitant
Stilo will be fun again. Gonna put some Wynns through the injectors too whilst i'm at it. MOT due at end of month so fingers crossed!!!

Smile Re: Turbo boost sensor

You guys need to sort out your overboost valves.

I've just been out in mine for the day and the overboost valve (and whatever it does) and the turbo have been in fantastic form. Had an encounter with a Skoda Octavia something or other on the way. Lets just say it would be an understatement to say I left it for dead Had to slow down a bit when I hit the motorway but the slick changes and tacho effortlessly surging into the red couldn't fail to put a grin on your face

Bozzy, You need to find your overboost valve and give it a bit of TLC. You should be able to find it if you follow the tubing which leads from the bottom middle front of the engine to the valve. I'll try and post a pic.
