I sometimes have this problem, except mine does stall by itself. Its not because I'm a female driver! Sometime, I can start it up and sit there with it in neutral and feet off pedals it will stall, intermittent fault that keeps being 'fixed' but always comes back.

Basically it's when you let up the clutch without giving the car enough gas, when your moving off.

Hello Tashy, It sounds like you need to have your throttle body replacing. It is a common fault on 1.6 models and there is a tech. bulletin about it so your dealer should know about it.:)

It Sound to me as if the Ecu software needs upgrading. Throttle body only replaced if no throttle at all.[8D]

THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN REPLACED ON MINE, WASN'T PICKIN UP ANY REVS WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED IT UP BUT YOU COULD ONLY GET 1500RPM OUT OF IT. WHICH WASN'T TOO CLEVER. YOUR PROBLEM SOUNDS MORE LIKE AIRFLOW PROBLEM WHICH WILL KEEP MAKIN YOUR CAR STALL, WHICH IS HIGHLY EMBARASSING AT THE BEST OF TIMES. CALL THE RECOVERY PEOPLE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT ALTHOUGH THEY SAID IT WAS AN AIRFLOW PROBLEM ON MINE BUT THE THROTTLE WAS JUST KNACKERED. COULD BE THE FUEL DELIVERY BUT THAT IS NOT VERY LIKELY. HOPE YOU GET YOU MOTOR SORTED COS STILO'S RULE.

OH AND IF ANY ONE HAS ANY DECENT PLACES FOR MODS AND STUFF I WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY URLS OR NUMBERS.

OH AND SORRY BOUT THE LENGTH OF THE POST...

LAT - Thanks for the reply

I have had to call the AA 3 times now and each time they read the fault, I write it down, but Fiat says it means nothing to them! So I have to hope the fault occurs when I take it to the dealer, but it probably won't. I do like my Stilo, but its so unreliable, and I will never buy a Fiat again, shame really because the cars are so nice. We'll see if they can fix it this time!! I wonder if anybody has ever been able to reject their Stilo for having so many faults. I might post this question somewhere.
