(T) JTD Fuel Leak

Hi

for the last 2 weeks my 02 stilo jtd has been given off a strong smell of diesel that seems to be getting worse. also have noticed a patch of diesel on my drive. drives fine and still get 49 mpg. iam putting it on a ramp in the week but wondered if anybody else had a simlar prob. smell of diesel goes when on the move. had a look at top of engine and cant see any leaks.

Check your fuel filter, check its not loose, or the bleed isnt undone.

Take the plastic cover off the top of the engine and check all the fuel unions onto the high pressure fuel rail at the top rear of the engine, cambelt end (17mm nuts I think)
Had same problem with mine about a month ago and one nut tightened about a 10th of a turn, problem fixed, gave engine a quick wash down to wash diesel off after and smell/leak gone
