Engine Cover Tool

Hey guys and girls

I've tried searching the forum, but can't seem to find the name of the tool to remove the engine/battery cover...

Having had the car for a couple of months now, i'd like to remove the cover and have a general poke-about.

Does anyone know what the tool is, or where i can get one; or any botch alternatives?!

Thanks,
Rob

Re: Engine Cover Tool

You need a Torx bit on the end of your screwdriver.

Torx is sort of star shape Dan you could eventually naff up the torx head if your not careful torx set was cheap at £3.8op so get yourself one the covers are not the only thing you will need them for either

Re: Engine Cover Tool

I may invest in a set of those then I've only ever took the cover off once to have a gander.

Re: Engine Cover Tool

They're not done up too tight, it's plastic after all so I've managed easily with a correct fitting flat blade screwdriver up til now wthout needing to dive into the torx bits

Cool Re: Engine Cover Tool

Well mine had been done up by Samson no less and a flat blade would have definatly damaged the torx head

Re: Engine Cover Tool

Probably installed by a no brainer with an air gun and a new torx bit set for Xmas

It's only got to hold a bit of plastic to another bit of plastic
