remote central locking

ok got a stilo 52 plate but no remote key fob what are the chances of getting a blank key having it cut and copied from old key or would a genuine Fiat remote central door locking kit made by META alarms. that turns your factory fit cental locking into a one touch remote control operation.
work on the stilo it consists of a relay with areial and fobs that plugs into fuse box to replace origanal relay for central locking?
your thoughts please o wise ones

Re: remote central locking

The remote control central locking system is integrated into the Body Computer from what I understand, all UK Stilo's have remote locking so you'll need to go to FIAT and get an original remote. Those kits you mentioned are not compatible with the Stilo.

Re: remote central locking

Did the car only come with a Single key ?

Just that all stilo's have remote Central locking as standard, if if you only have one key the the original remote key must of been lost by the previous owners.

The Red light in the door will come on, even with no alarm fitted. It is there to inform that the imobiliser is at least enabled on none alarm models.
Also if you can stick stuff into a space above the front interior light I believe that means there is no alarm.

Re: remote central locking

Hence you have no alarm, but have remote central locking fitted, and need to go to FIAT to get the original key for it to work!

I expect you may need ID to order it; best phone in advance.

Re: remote central locking

No need, Stilo's don't use the red key, each key gets programmed into the Body Computer instead now.

Like T14086 says, if you want the car reprogrammed so the inidcators flash when you lock/unlock the car they can do it whilst they've got the codes from the ISR to hand; if you decide to do it later, you'll no doubt have to pay again!
