What's your chassis number Scorg? If it's near 146979 you should be ok! My mum's had it sat there, taped up to another wire just like mine had. Which is odd, since her 1.6 doesn't have ESP, and from what I'm told, it's ESP that makes it pre-wired. Maybe all early Stilo's had it wired up?

I'll have a look over the next couple of days, maybe by monday. Is this the one taped up in the engine bay? as there wasnt a cable under the wheel.
Not looked in the engine bay yet though.

Re: cruise control

Ok, can't see why it should't be there, although my 03 1.8 has it and rob's (1.8 Stilo)'s doesn't!!

Re: cruise control

Well if you get a FIAT stalk (only available as a complete £180 unit) then all you need is a new lower steering shroud. If you get the ALFA stalk (£35), you'll need to modify the new shroud. Just needs a bit of filing I believe . . .

Re: cruise control

i had a chat with an other stilo owner....

he said that all 03 and back stilos do have the ecu programmed for the cruise control but there is also a plate (the actual cruise control unit) that should connect to the brown connector...this costs about 270Euros....i don't know if that is true...

Rrope....did u actually make it work on a 1.6 stilo connecting just the brown connector to the cruise control stalk???

Re: cruise control

Ah ha!

So face, what was the final step that made it work?

The other end of the brown connector goes to the Engine Node; without that your car isn't going anywhere!

I've checked the switches on ePER and there is no difference between Cruise and non-Cruise equipped vehicles!

Nothing was done on the car since yesterday...i' ve just checked the connectors for misplaced wires, and then MAGIC...!!!....really it is pretty straighforward...

searching in the fiat cds i discoverd these....the whole cruise control wiring diagram...hope it 'll help anyone that is still trying..!!

it clearly shows that the cruise signal initiates from M10 (control unit) and through D4(B)-brown connector [D4(A) is on M10] it ends at H7 (fiat or alfa stalk-it is exactly the same as rrope' already said )...!!!!

1.8 stilo check your connections again..

Re: cruise control

This mod is one I'd like to do, and I think there's a good chance that my 04 plate 1.6 MW is predisposed to the fitting of cruise control, since it is offered as an optional extra ( I've yet to check this out ). My question is does fitting this affect the warranty in any way ?. TIA
