Re: After market Cruise control

The only one I could find on the german ebay was a a starting bid of 79 euro plus postage if it is the one you spotted , compare that to the alfa stalk of £40 new at the most, I think the alfa one I have fitted does not look out of place and does just the same as the standard stilo cruise stalk, plus even if you get the origenal stilo stalk you still have the lower shoroud to sort out which ever you choose between the alfa or stilo stalk,,,still they do seem to have a lot more service items for the stilo on the german ebay guess if I could read german that would help or I would just end up buying a packet of german sausage without even knowing about it.

Re: After market Cruise control

Ordered the 147 stalk Wednesday and it came today, cost 49 odd quid.

Plug & Play on mine... makes one hell of a difference

Only wish I had done this a whole lot sooner...

Re: After market Cruise control

i took off both cowlings the other day and had a damn good look for the 3rd time, and again no luck.

so looks like its going to have to be wired in. i've got some nice 7 core trailer board wiring which is perfect, only problem is to get to either the engine node or the plug under to fusebox, wire up to it, and run the cable to the steering column.

Re: After market Cruise control

In case any of you would like to try this with Stilos that haven't had all the nice bits costed out by accountants (Guess whose 54 plate Dynamic isn't even partially wired....)

This http://www.fiatforum.com/auction-wat...ml#post1690197 is now surplus to requirements.

Re: After market Cruise control

Hi!
I can't find brown connector in batery bay. Where should it be mounted? Any tips? Is it coonected to sth or just put freely?

Are all Stilos prepared to installation the cruise control?
Where is the engine node required when no connector under wheel and no brown connector in battery pack.

Regrads,
Slavomir

Re: After market Cruise control

This is a great guide. Just retro-fitted cruise to my Schumi and it went like a dream. A couple of extra tips:

1. To ease access for tightening the screws securing the stalk to the column, turn the steering wheel so that the large space in the top of the wheel is opposite the area you want to access. Gives you much more room to work. Same things applies to refitting the lower half of the steering column shroud. Much easier to do with the steering wheel turned 180 degrees from the straight ahead.

2. The part number for the plastic cover shrouding the steering column which has been pre-cut for the cruise stalk is F07353069997.

Re: After market Cruise control

P.S There's more info on retro-fitting cruise here:

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ive-guide.html

It's a long thread, but there are some useful extra bits of info and a couple of exploded drawings.

Re: After market Cruise control

Guys i have a question i was looking if my car is prewired with the connector on the steering column and i found this

Is this the connector for the cruise control? i have a feeling that it is but the connector is different because i remember some time ago the idiots at the garage changed the wiring in the car cause they believed it was faulty cause of the airbag problem and i have a feeling the electrician put this connector instead of the white one. If not than anyone have any idea what the heck this is?

Re: After market Cruise control

Don't know what that is, but I can tell you the connector on the cruise stalk won't fit that block. Sorry.
