Set your SatNav options to shortest route, which will most likely take you away from the motorway, then.

...........enjoy the drive (and you wont be needing the cruise control)

Re: After market Cruise control

I've always wanted the c.c. on stilo as I've it on my Pajero, but €300 I think it's a pure wast.

Last Friday I bought a 147 Stalk from a salvage for €15. They add a couple of Stilo with no cruise control. I've tested it on a wreked stilo an it fited just fine.
Saturday morning I took some tools an a wire to connect it to the D4 connector.
As I opened the cowling Suprise! there it was. The H7 connector.
Just pluged it in and took it for a ride.
Another surprise it worked like a charm.

No need for rewirering, it just tooked me 5 min.

Posting pics later this week.
The hard job is to cut the cawling to make it look good. It took me 30 min but it looks it's a stock part.

I've a 2005 1.4 MW whith A/C, no ESP. Extras: 4 elect. windows(€200), leather wheel with 6 radio btn and perlescent gray(ofert from dealer), confort pack(€300) and Aftermarket Alarm(€150) fitted by the FIAT dealer (the stock costs 300 and there is really no dif. in them)

Re: After market Cruise control

Hi,
i've got a problem.

I've an 1.8 Dynamic 2002 semiwired Stilo.
I've wired the stalk but nothing happens. The Examiner give's an error message

Speedcontrollstick, error, unvalid signal present.

What can i do ? Anybody an idea? Or can it be, that the engine-node(?) doesn't supports cc? It's an Hitachi...

BTW. i've read in an italian stilo forum, that doing the proxy allignment of the speedometer(?... the thing in front of the driver that shows the speed ;-)) on an original CC - Stilo will made the CC-LED work...

Question Re: After market Cruise control

Just thinking:
If I don't use 147 Stalk for cc, can I use navigation buttons on the right side of wheel? There is no very useful use of this buttons, and even signs on them are good for cruise control! For switch I could use one like for ASR (I have spare place) with light.
What do you guys think about that?

Re: After market Cruise control

addy75; I don't understand why this error should be there. My 1.8 Stilo is a 2002 build but was fully wired and works fine. Proxi-alignment WONT make the light work no matter what is said, actually proxing made my light not work when I put in my new dash.

Muki; do you mean the "My Car" panel buttons? What happens when you need to use them to reset time when the battery fails for example . . .

Smile Re: After market Cruise control

Sorry, I didn't write that I have left side steering wheel. I don't mean this 'My Car' buttons.

elearn: 5580N
STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS
The controls for the main functions of the CONNECT Nav+ system are duplicated on the steering wheel for easier operation.

Selection buttons (7 and 9): these buttons carry out the same functions as the Connect right ring nut (14) ==> for +- speed adjusting

Enter button (8):this button confirms the selection made previously using buttons 7 and 9. ==> for resume

For main switch I coud use something like AUTO button for Abarth, with LED. I have blank on this place. CITY button is also something I don't use .... or some better idea?

Re: After market Cruise control

I just wouldn't bother and get the stalk, far easier! You know linking CAN line buttons direct to the engine node and a +12V supply will only screw the car up!

Re: After market Cruise control

@ rroope

Hi,

i don't know, it's the only message which the examiner gives me while trying the manuel stack test.

I controlled every wire an the signal arrives the expected pin.
As i read to the 12V is equal to get from ( f.e. direct from the battery...)

The LED... i can only reply what's written in the ww.stiloclub.it - forum. some of them bought the abarth dash ( some for the jtd) put it in an the LED works fine. AFTER the proxying on the car it doesn't apear anymor just the message on the matrix. Proxying the orig. dash on an car with ORIGINAL CC makes the LED work on an after-market CC...
But... let me see after i replaced my dash

Re: After market Cruise control

As it seems the break isn't full wired....
it seems, that i didn't check good enough first....

but the documentation DTE / eLearn etc. from FIAT sucks

Anyone tried to find the correct connector and pin ? The correct connector is D4, the black one near the brown one near the battery... The pins from the break on D4 are A02 / A05. On DTE / eLearn in engl. or german the Pins are named C10 and A08... in italian the pins are named correct

Re: After market Cruise control

After finding this thread and mooching through it I must confess i'm sorely tempted to have a go on my JTD... as most of my mileage is spent cruising @ 55-65. Then again if the alfa stalk don't just 'plug n play' think I would be a bit nervous of messing too much in case I mangle it in an expensive stylee (missus would then no doubt exercise her right to beat some sense into me!)
