Lightbulb 1.6 Engine "remaps"

I've been looking for ages to find somewhere thats prepared to remap 1.6's. I've found loads of places on the continent so whats the problem with tuners over here? With the amount of 1.6 owners on here wanting remaps, they would make a mint!

Anyway, I've found a company in France that does mail order tuning boxes, see HERE . They want 380.00 € and they reckon on a 14hp increase.

Why don't we use this thread to post any other findings of remaps for the 1.6....

Good luck. We can supply the tuning boxes as well, for less than that too, however that is ONLY the hardware and fitting kit, it is not the actual tuning and set up on the rolling road which is going to add £££'s to that cost and what we found was that people were not prepared to pay over £300 all inc for 12bhp, which is understandable. If there is someone in France doing it, why not go over there. ITs only £49 return on the Eurotunnel and it may well be worth it cost wise and have a few days holiday at the same time.

There are a LOT of people who WANT it, there are fewer people that are prepared to PAY for it!

We did a lot of research into it and could do it - and even offered it, but then so many people then decided that the didnt want it after all.

Good lcuk and if we can help in any way let us know.

Re: 1.6 Engine "remaps"

What about if you got enough DEFINATE people prepared to have it done? Would you consider re-offering your services? I'd definately be after this, but I need to get my hols and xmas out of the way first.

Thanks for your input!

Unfortunately we went this route before and had about 30 people saying they definently wanted it..... then 2 that were actually prepared to pay money to have it. It grated on us a bit to be honest!

We have recently looked into it again and we have sourced the right equipment at the right price, but we need a 1.6 for a week to get it all buttoned down before we offer it. THEN depending on the results v cost we can see if we can offer it at a reasonable price for the power gain.

No need to be like that. Perfectly simple question, It was true at one point but that was the last I heard.

So your buying your maps elsewhere or are you writing your own now?
