(T) The Only Thing Missing...

Right, I love my stilo, I don't mine it's tiny engine (relatively speaking) the insurance is good
I don't mind that it's not been custmised yet, wheels and suspension will be coming...
I don't mind that I made the wrong choice for stereo, cos all in all i can change that donw the line...
I do mind that I don't have air conditioning. This summer has been unbearable at times, and driving down to London (gotta love that M25) was horrible. But I don't know what to do about it. I can't find a quote for aftermarket aircon, or whether it's possible or not.

Does anyone have any ideas about this... can I get that middle button upgraded to actually cool my car down? and if so, is it going to cost me the same as fitting a turbo to it?

If that wasn't likely to cause accidents and police brutality, I'd consider it.

I dont know what summer you've had this year but mines had about 3 days of decent sunshine...........just open your windows and drive fast!

Aircon's great when it works ok but mine doesn't seem to chill as well as it used to - no doubt needs a regas but I only actually use it ocaasionally.

Is the aircon in the Stilo weak anyway?

Can't say that it is... mine works great, and in summer the temp goes up to 35 degrees celcius over here. (Sometimes more...)

I saw on another thread the other day that somebody had problems with their aircon from day one, and it was due to a faulty pipe or something. I think it was posted by Koarang...

Like I said I don't use it all that often - I forked out extra for the Sky Window so I want to get the use of it

It's maybe just not chilling as effectively because the weather has been unexpectedly hot. i.e. it is still working ok but due to higher inlet temp the outlet temp is slightly higher too.

serious? we've had a couple of runs, around 4 weeks of it. Temps of high end 20's (admittedly not all that high by some standards, but I spend a lot of time in ice cold Sweden, so I'm used to lower temps) but in a black stilo it's horrible. I use the windows open and drive fast method, but it doesn't help all that much.

I can well imagine that high 20s could be a bit uncumfortable in a black car... especially if you are used to very low temps.

Over here in SA you can buy an aftermarket aircon that fits in any car. It's electronic, and not mechanical like most aircons, which makes installation easier. You might be able to get one of those in Europe
