Stiff clutch?

Is it just my car or is the clutch peddle really stiff in the Stilo??

Any known cures?

Re: Stiff clutch?

Had a quick search round the forum, but nothing has really been mentioned about stiff clutches on the Stilo.

I got a selespeed, lol, so can't add any more.

Re: Stiff clutch?

Depends if your used to a petrol clutch, i've always found Diesels a little heavier in the clutch pedal. Mind you i've got calfs of steel driving my mini!

Re: Stiff clutch?

I still can't get used to the Stilo's clutch, my 1.2 is feather light! Even though the Stilo is my regular car and the mini my fun car, i'm still more used to the stiff, moves an inch, on/off clutch of the mini!

If its a bit stiff, it might be time to get it into the dealers to get the hinge cleaned out and lubricated. My clutch felt a little stiff/jittery and not very smooth at all. They cleaned it out and lubed it, felt great since. Compared to my old fiesta the pedals are very light...almost like those pedals you get for the playstation :P

Re: Stiff clutch?

Leave him alone, he's in touch with his femine side! And anyway, its you thats missing out!

Yeah i went from a LX TDi Ford, clutch on that was actually quite light i thought until i test drove the Stilo and nearly put my left leg through the floor when dipping the clutch on the test drive.

Re: Stiff clutch?

Perhaps I should have added that my car is a JTD. I have been driving Diesels for the last 10 years, and my clutch / gear selection is 100% hard work. Trip to the dealer I think

Red face Re: Stiff clutch?

can't say it's heavy at all TBH. Very light in fact and IMHO too easy to stall (as i commonly do)
