(T) Air Con Failure (again)

My aircon packed up for the 4th time on Saturday. Previously, it has had many pipes changed. I have complained about it cutting out and the compressor making a whirring sound a good few times to my dealer recently. Last Monday, they leak tested the system and said there were no leaks but there was too much gas in it! All seemed fine and really cold until Saturday. So, here I am again, in the summer wishing for cool weather! It goes in tomorrow for a once over but there is no chance of a fix. Due to holidays, there are few staff in. 2nd year warranty expires at end of July so I only hope the fact the fault has been looked at will not affect the claim. Pipes etc. are not covered in year 3!!

You should be OK on the warranty front if your dealer fixes the problem after the 2nd year expires as long as they diagnosed the issue before.

I had a gearbox leak diagnosed last week (on the last day of year 3!!!) and FIAT are covering it as the dealer was able to submit the job card showing they had seen/diagnosed before expiry of warranty.

Is work/repairs FIAT do to your car not guaranteed for a certain time anyways irrelevant as to your 2/3 year warrenties?

Diagnosis is high pressure pipe / seal failure. Parts have been ordered and will be covered for the work. Still a major pain in the backside though. Why is it that we all have to endure the same problem, time & time again?
