Exclamation whistle

hi people im after some advice and scrap it just wont do! was driving along the motorway the other day when my stilo 5 door 1.2 (family man) started whistling very loudly so i slightly tapped the brakes and it stopped off with brakes it started again also stops with a slight nudge of the steering wheel this seems to happen after driving constantly for about 30 mins so i pulls over and the heat coming from behind the wheels was hot to say the least once they cool down all is ok any ideas are most welcome

Re: whistle

get the brakes checked,if you have a dragging/binding brake it could cause that. more likely dragging than binding but it will wear the pads/discs faster if it is

Re: whistle

Somewhat belatedly my advice is to pop your car asap into say Kwikfit for example for a quick safety check at least. I would have thought that a wobbly wheelbearing or binding brakes would be evident to one of the techies there. I would certainly would not go on the motorway until you have it sorted.

Good luck.

Re: whistle

i had a squealing (not a whistling) from mine which was intermitment. Took it to a mter who works at kwik-fit and he stripped the brakes down as they were binding on. He cleaned them up (as too much dirt and stuff was causing the problem) and it fixed it.
