Induction kits.... on a 1.2

Please dont laugh, as i paid nothing for the K&N jobby, i have a slight problem though, i had it fitted and then i developed an engine fault, assumed it was the kit and switched it back to the original air box/filter. What i'm wondering is the following:

Was the fault caused by too lean a mix of air and petrol? (due to increased air flow and normal petrol flow)

If this is the case, is there anyway i can feed more petrol into the system, to rid the engine fault?

If both are wrong, what can i do to get my car to stop sounding like a choir boy?

your car should compensate for the incresed air flow of a K&N no problem. what was the fault?

You should really increase the fuelling when fitting an induction kit. I think alfanige does a remap for the 1.2, couldn't tell you how much though, give him a PM.

Shouldn't affect your warranty as it's untracable.

Re: Induction kits.... on a 1.2

well bugger this, the elusive engine fault has appeared. I've switched back to the normal box, and the fault has gone.. wow.. magic. Look likes this is going to sit in the box then.. again.

Check this thread out! http://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/29832-how-fit-bmc-carbon-dynamic-airbox-your-stilo.html
A CDA is a carbon dynamic airbox made by BMC.
