can anyone help?

I have 2002 Stilo 1.2 activ and am hoping someone might be able to help, is it possible to turn off the passenger airbag as I about to start taking my grandson who is 5 months old to nursery, and I have been told you can't put the baby seat in the front of the car unless the airbag is turned off.

Re: can anyone help?

Isn't there a switch inside the passenger door - open that door, and insert key to turn them off?!

BTW, I may be wrong, my Stilo been in garage for 3 weeks, and I am taking the reference off the Ulysse I own, lol

The airbag disabled is only for rearward facing seats - in this case, I would imagine a 5 m/o would be rearward facing.

Why not put car seat in the back?

You are correct theres a switch to turn it off on the side of the dashboard which you can see when you open the passenger door. Well there is at least on mine anyway.

Yup, there's a switch on the side of the glove box housing visible as you open the passenger door and should be operated by your ignition key.

Just remember to activate it once you stop using the seat in the front

Once you have turned the key in the panel by the opened door the (another!) light comes up on the dash similar to the sign on the switch to remind you that the airbag is off

Nope, try it tonight, it stays on to remind you that your bag is off, like the seat belt light, or the ASR light.

Only when you turn it back on does it stay off.
