Software??

Hi folks
Can anyone give a final bit of advise re the software subject. Taking the car back for a check next week, wondering if a should mention updating the software? Would this in anyware help car performace as Im finding the car maybe not as smooth as I would of hoped, only done 800 miles so may be not worth it any way?

Hi Bosie,
as far as I am aware updating the software doesn't help with the performance, the connect+ works slightly better. I was on 7.7 and was upgraded to 9.7 thay have to get a code so take in all your paper work, as thay will need it for the code.

If you haven't got ConnectNAV you haven't got software in the same sense. The whole 7.7, 8.4, 9.7, etc debate is the firmware for the ConnectNAV unit itself. It doesn't affect the car's performance.

There are firmware upgrades and config options for ECUs and the car's other systems too. Ask your dealer to check these out if you are having problems.

can someone tell how much does the SW update cost? I have v 8.5 but it's buggy without end. I think its windows.. [:o)]

Should be free. Your dealer is a con man if he charges you!
