| error message BC: water in diesel filter Hi Guys today I got a new error code from my BC. It says : "water in diesel filter" or in german Wasser im Diesel-Filter. The code flashes today at 2 times only for about half a secound and then disapears. Car is a Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD from begining of 2002. I know that the Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD has the same "stupid" error code flashing, but as checked in the garage no problems. Should I contact my garage or could I forgett this message ? ciao Neo767 ps. sorry for my bad english

Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: (0) | Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter Its quoted in the manual as check and empty ever 6000 miles, seeing as service is every 12,000 miles that means if you only get it checked at service interval your potentially driving around for 6000 miles with a fuel filter full of water! Not a good plan.

Thanks: 38 Trader Rating: (0) Drives: | Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter Never had this problem and as the jtd is very fussy regarding its fuel filtering then I would drain the filter and if there is any water in it, take the car to the dealer and get the tank and pipework inspected for water leaking into the system, then change the filter.

| Q400 Driver | Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter This is something that concerns me as recently I was flicking thru the service book and noticed a footnote that diesels should have their fuel filters drained of water at 6000 miles. This is despite the fact that, when new, on handover I was told there was nothing required until the first 12000 mile service, a fact that's also handwritten on the handover sheet. Anyone know what's involved? Is it simply holding a nipple until the water drains out? or removing a plug or something....

| Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter i've done 20,000 miles so far this year and never touched the filter - i assume it was checked at the 12,000 mile service
