And the Stilo isn't, so surely your Pug fix doesn't apply!

Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter

Diesel filter on JTD engines is changed every 12000 miles or annually whichever comes first. It is an industry standard that fuel filters are drained every 6000 miles or 6 months, check most service books and you will find it. Citroen, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Rover etc. Very few cars actually have it done, lease companies wont pay for it to be done either so its left to techs to do it on their own cars and anyone else who finds out about it.

Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter

So we are talking Magnetti-Marelli now, so you sugggesting every one of their ecu's are the same!

As for industry standard..... how do you think it becomes one! 'cos it needs checked and emptied every 6000 miles, if your car goes pop and its not been checked every 6000 miles you are in the deep do do not the car company!

Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter

What happens if you don't empty the water & it fills up?

Is it going to cause damage to the engine?

Obviously I'm assuming here that you DON'T get a warning message from the car.

Re: error message BC: water in diesel filter

Water into diesel engines doesn't go! Water doesn't compress, engine goes bang! Not quite to life threatening on a petrol engine, seeing as the compression ratio isn't as high!
