Connect Nav+ CODE

I am still waiting for NavTeq to reply about maps for South Africa, but in the meantime I saw someone selling a unit on a german site. I asked if he had the CODE and he replied...

"I don`t have the Mastercode for the CN+, but it isn`t required to get the CN+ working. All you have to do, is to connect the CANBUS A-Line first, after that connect the CANBUS B-Line. With this you override the Mastercode on the CN+."

Is that correct? Surely it is required, or anybody stealing it could also use such a simple method... (not that I know what he is talking about, but obviously its something you do when installing it, and it seems a little bit too easy)

Tx!

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

I've never had to enter a code on my Connect Nav+ when disconnecting the battery or even when fitting a CDC, so it may be true.

You only enter a code that YOU have selected from the setup menu.

My CN+ came with a 4 digit PIN code - if I remember correctly, it is required if the unit is unable to obtain the correct serial number from the body computer that it is matched to.

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

You actually have to enter a 4 digit pin code. there might be models out there which don't require that though (different fiat part no's...)

The thing with the can bus lines is correct though. works exactly that way.

best,
lars.

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

It's Blaupunkt-designed and manufactured by Magneti Marelli.

I thought it was Visteon?!

Although I am aware that the CN+ in the Ulysse is made by Magneti Marelli.

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

I also read somewhere that all the Stilo headunits were by Visteon.

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

Help me please!
I bought Fiat Stilo 2002 with Magneti Marelli Connect Nav+, but I haven't code.
I made all steps as described here:
http://freenet-homepage.de/fk2000/cn...cn+_einbau.htm
but it doesn't work
I disconnected pin 3 first, switch ignition ON, but spidometer not blinked
I try to disconnect pin 1 - without effects
CN+ worked until ignition is OFF. If I switch ignition ON - CN+ write "Enter Code"
Maybe I can do anything else?

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

Ok, is this a factory installation or an after-production job?

If by "Pin 1" and "Pin 3" you mean CAN-A and CAN-B, doing so is pointless as they are both needed for the CAN-BUS to work at that node.

Re: Connect Nav+ CODE

1. Factory
2. Yes. These CAN-BUS. I try to disconnect both pins 1 and 3 and CN+ worked with ignition ON, but management on a rudder did not work
