Towbar electrics

Hi,

So last weekend I fitted a towbar to my 3dr JTD.
I didn't get round to doing the electrics though - anyone know the best way?
I have no instructions on this so it's a case of clamping onto the existing lamp wires. I hope this is the way. Even if the car is multiplexed then I should still be able to tap off this way. Or can I?

Cheers

Morgan

Re: Towbar electrics

I'd personally buy the correct plug in bit from Fiat. Might be worth the expence in all honesty!

Re: Towbar electrics

Ah right. Thanks guys.
I did not know there was a plug in bit. Got my towbar from Towsure and the electrics is of the old school clip onto existing wires type.
I'll give Fiat a ring and get me some official gizmo.

Thanks for saving me a whole heap of trouble!

Re: Towbar electrics

cheers, I'll give both Fiat and Towsure a call then.
Also It might pay me to investigate what actually came with the towbar.

Incidentally, fitting the bar was a thoroughly awkward job. Removing the rear bumper is an art that requires patience, thin wrists and a ridiculous level of dexterity to get at a screw right at the top of the bumper, inside the thing near the corner of the car. Nightmare!
