(T) 02 abarth. undriveable when cold, jumpy for a few hundred yards, does this sound fami

just bought an 02 5dr abarth with selespeed, when its cold its a pig to drive, it kangaroos down the road for about the first minute. then settles down, has anyone else had this problem? does anyone have an idea whats wrong? p.s its done 80000k

80k on an 02 plate, wow - I have just clocked 25k, and I bought mine last year with 16k on it, lol.

Where abouts are you from? I don't have an issue on these cold mornings in the UK, and can boot mine out of the driveway with no problems.

sounds like a tempature sensor falt telling the ecu its already hot when its not, so it will be getting less fuel,

Mine did that occassionally, reported it at a service and was fixed, or I haven't noticed it since.

I found the easiest temporary fix was to stop, turn of the engine and restart and you'll most likely find it goes away. Other than that change up and be gentle with the accelerator.

Take it back to your dealer or the place you bought it from presuming it wasn't a private sale and insist it is fixed.

I have found that if the air con is on the problem is worse, once i turn it off for the first minute of a journey it is fine

Haven't we done this thread before. All you have to do is let the car idle for a minute or two just wait for the temp gauge to get to the first white mark & it'll be fine.

Mine is remapped, I don't notice any jumping, and I tend to get it up to speed quite quickly in the morning [ok, I know I should idle it first....].
