20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

Hello everybody,

Does anybody know anything about the devices that claim to add upto 20 BHP to your fiat that you can buy on ebay for a few quid, I,m thinking bout getting one.

Should I bother?

Also does anybody know a decent window tinting company in the northampton area?

Go for it. £20 for a resistor that does nothing! Well maybe it does do something, maybe it causes trouble!

Honestly mate, don't. Waste of time. Spent your pennies with Angel Tuning instead.

Re: 20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

I went for 1 of these on my old punto, and i could tell that it did make a slight difference, i only had it on for a few weeks before i sold it so i dont know it cause'd any problems! But i would go with angel tuning; or get a induction kit / exhaust, or somthing like that instead (maybe more expensive, but well worth it)

See Nige @ Angel Tuning - not only did he do a fuel remap, he also fitted the BMC CDA induction kit!

Jason, next time you are free, pop over and I will take you for a proper spin

Will the BMC CDA induction kit make a noticeable difference in performance?

How about fuel consumption, Does that change much?

Hi

Yes, the CDA does make a noticeable difference, although I had remap at same time [which is CDA compliant], so that also improved matters a lot.

Fuel consumption? Depends how heavy footed you are. The remap will smooth all the curves, and in theory you should get better consumption. In reality, I put my foot down more. What consumption you getting atm?

Re: 20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

I have a CDA fitted (currently no remap - end of the month) and yes the car feels like it has had its 'ball and chain' removed (would recommend it to eveyone), though it does feel like there's a flat spot around 4/5000 rpm, after the point where the torque would kick in but before the BHP is at its best at the end of the rev range (think it maybe due to the fuel/air ration being a bit too weak on the standard mapping)- almost forgot 2.4 Abarth.

Added benefit (purely cosmetic) engine sounds normal when driving normally but when you give it some sounds like wild beasts being set free.

ps; big thanks to Nigel @ Angel for popping over and running diagnostic on ECU...cars alot better now it running on 5 cylinders instead of 3 (2x knackered iginition coils).

Re: 20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

Nice to see another CDA 2.4 user out there!

Be interesting to see the difference you feel once remap done - I get a massive surge from about 4000rpm, and some great sounds

Oops on the two coil packs - my car had one go a few months back, and I noticed it straight away; car was virtually undriveable, and had no grunt. Mine was replaced by the AA under 3rd year dealer warranty.

Re: 20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

Nice one - I don't get to see 27mpg, too much right foot - most of my driving is country lanes, and booting it to overtake.

What springs are they using btw? Just out of interest. They are not all the same, lol.

Re: 20+ BHP as seen on EBAY

Thats a good question, I forgot to ask what make they were.

Are they not just coiled bits of metal, can't be much difference, can they?
