Buying the autochanger...

Can you buy the glovebox unit anywhere else but Fiat? Online perhaps for a better deal?

Re: Buying the autochanger...

Dont you need optional installation kits to make that work?

Re: Buying the autochanger...

I assume you would need the Glove box kit with the din slot to put the changer in - The unit its self should be supplied with the cabling to connect to the head unit tho.

Does it work out any cheaper to buy the Kit (e.g glove box part) from fiat - then the changer from someone else?

Re: Buying the autochanger...

You need to watch out with the multiplayer as there are two versions of the IDC-A09 - the standard version (as per the link in previous post) and the FIAT specific version which has differennt software.

There have been many posts in the past on this subject and the generally accepted advice is to buy from FIAT if you want it to work 100%.

It's worth looking at eBay as the FIAT dealer in Bedford regularly sells the complete kits (changer, liner & cable) and they had 20 up last week for £195 + postage.

Re: Buying the autochanger...

Does it work backwards - Fiat Changer and after market head unit - I had hoped to change the head unit and keep the fiat changer

Re: Buying the autochanger...

Well if it don't work, I'd be interested in the FIAT one (will even give you the standard glovebox liner to replace yours...)

Re: Buying the autochanger...

Great - At least I have options - The only problem is I STILL need to know my fait changer will work with the aftermarket headunit - Dont really want to pay out for a Blaupunkt headunit - then find it dont work - I have tryed searching this forum but have still yet to find the answer?

I would rather have a Sony headunit to work with the changer I already have, its just I must say the Glove box version looks very nice and works well with the standard headunit.

Come on someone must have tryed this - anyone ..... anyone at all ?

Re: Buying the autochanger...

In the absence of anyone coming forward, your next best option is to ask a Blaupunkt dealer.

According to the Blaupunkt website there are two dealers in Buckinghamshire:

EDWORTHYS
15 MARCH PLACE
AYLESBURY
Tel.: 01296 482626

Satellite Automotive Solutions Ltd
High Wycombe
Tel.: 08704 586891

Hope this helps
