(T) turbocharged stilo!!...update in gearbox needed...!!!

hi guys......

i had a discussion with a dealer (not fiat) in greece about a past gearbox failure (4rth gear in pieces) since my 1.6T know delivers 25kgr of torgue, and he said to me that there is a gearbox that suits my 1.6lt stilo and can handle up to 40kgr of torgue.....

he would't tell me from which model it comes from cause he wants 1000E for that and i think its a lot....

does this ring any bells???

i heard that there was a 1.6T edition of the coupe in italy...do u know if this is true...???

maybe you need to ask in the main fiatforum as there will be more coupe owners who read that section, and seeing as your question is related to the coupe you may get a response there.

It might be a 'box from a turbodiesel, as the diesels output a lot more torque than the petrol engines. I've heard of people putting diesel car 'boxes into highly tuned/turbo'd petrol cars to cope with the extra torque, but I don't know if they had to change the gear ratios or not

thanx guys...i' ve heard that there WAS a 1.6lt T engine on the coupe but there is a high possibility that the gearbox i am talking about comes from the last version of the uno turbo.......
