Rear Wiper gone crazy

Started the car up this morning and cleared the rear window with the wiper. I turned it off and it just kept going. Turned the car off and then on again and it was fine. Anyone come across this before.
Cheers
Graham

Re: Rear Wiper gone crazy

sorry if stating the obvious but did you have the front wipers on intermittent or any other setting? if it was and you put the car into reverse (dont even have to move) the rear wiper will run continuously!

Re: Rear Wiper gone crazy

At least it wasnt a bad earth like on mine, all wipers moving when they felt like it, whatever the weather.

Funny thing is the engineer from the insurance who saw it asked me the weather conditions it mostly happens in, which i said was dry, he then said strange it doesnt happen in the rain (referring to front wipers) at which point i lost all confidence in him fixing other problems on the car as i had to point out to him it wasnt noticable as when it is wet the wipers are switched on.
