Question 20004 stilo's...

Hi guys, for those who have 2004 '04' stilo's, 3 or 5 door, can I ask you how your tyres are wearing(mainly fronts).

Have all the problems of the early models been sorted?(foremost tyres)

Im thinking of changing to a new one, but the tyre probs ive had really worry me.

Thanks KK

Re: 20004 stilo's...

I've done 12,500 odd miles in my 04 plate, and the fronts are getting a bit low (the car gets a hard drive), however the tyre wear appears to be very even. As you would expect the rears are in very good (and even) nick.

Re: 20004 stilo's...

After reading through this thread I decided to go and measure the tread depth on the tyres my 04 1.6 16v Active Sport. It was bought at the end of March and has now covered 5300 miles. I made just a quick measurement at the centres as it was raining. The rears measure 7 mm The fronts 5 mm. When it stops raining I shall take some measurements across the whole of the tread but as first sight it looks like fairly heavy wear on the fronts. Tyres are Dunlop SP SPORT 2000 E 205/55R/16V.

Re: 20004 stilo's...

I think i can answer your query, you point out you've got at Active Sport model, i assume you drive it as it is named, sportily! Tyres will last no time if you lean on them in corners and spank the car a lot. I drive my Stilo like an old woman, so i get good wear out of mine!

Re: 20004 stilo's...

Your right Stiloboy I do try to drive it as it's named and it seems to go fairly well as soon as it gets over 3k on the rev counter it takes off. Anything under 3k it goes like its lost 3 cylinders.
