Re: Fiat Servicing

Not if my experience is anything to go by. Had my stilo serviced in a very good local independent garage but they couldn't get rid of the 'service due' message that comes up every time I start the car.

Re: Fiat Servicing

it is possible i think but might not be strictly legal, i know a friend who has an audi a4 tdi which he bought with 110k on the clock (it was a digital one) and his old man owns a garage, they got a guy to come round to "shave" 60k off! now he's on about "55k" (and quids in when he comes to sell it)! this piece of kit, he tells me, will also get rid of the service messages with the right and up to date software.

Re: Fiat Servicing

I've never seen that kind of message on my Stilo. Is it a recent thing?
I know there's something in the onboard computer that shows a servicing mileage kind of thing.

Re: Fiat Servicing

I know it is possible to reset the Ulysse service indicator by keeping your finger on the TRIP button as you start the engine, or something.

There must be a similar technique with the Stilo - I am sure one of the Fiat tech guys on here will let us know soon enough.....

Lightbulb Re: Fiat Servicing

I used to work for Peugeot on the service desk. It's a legal obligation to tell a customer how to reset the service counter so just ring up your dealership or pop in. It's because Trading Standards have cracked down on dealerships invalidationg warranties if they're not done at dealership. Basically, you are not invalidating your warranty if the service is done by any registered garage at the correct intervals using branded Fiat parts. Ergo, Fiat have to tell you how to how to reset it. I know Peugeots are rest by holding the trip button for ten seconds when turning the ignition. I'm guessing it's the same.

Re: Fiat Servicing

hi fiat guru here,
The stilo will have to go onto a dealership examiner and reset through that. dealerships will do it at a cost mostly at price of £15 or come to cardiff and we will sort you out through a friend!!

Re: Fiat Servicing

On previous threads it yas been mentioned that it can only be done at a dealership or somewhere that has the examiner tool, but whilst they will try to charge you, if you kick up a fuss, you are entitled to have it done free of charge if you can prove that the service has been performed adequately elsewhere.

Re: Fiat Servicing

True but the service has to be approved by a person from that dealership and the parts used in the service have to be genuine fiat parts. .
but they will still try and charge you unless you try your hardest to get it for free. as we say if your in Cardiff!!
