| Airbag Failure Warning Light Hi All I have a Stilo Abarth which is displaying the 'Airbag Failure Warning' on the dash. On occasion it does disappear, for a very short periods of time, but most of the time its displayed. The car has not been hit and the airbags haven't, as of yet, deployed. Is this a common fault ? is it easy to fix ?

What happens when you first switch the car on? Does it say OK after it does all its internal checks? Have you had the car put on Examiner at the local dealer, or at least approched them yet? Stu

| It will be a poor multiplug connection somewhere but your car has approx 8 airbags it will need a examiner read out to i.d. the cause, the favourite ones are the plugs under the seats (as previously mentioned) but dont go fiddling with them just get the dealer to rectify.

| Also ditto on my 1.6 they replaced the occupant sensor and on a seperate occasion the wiring loom - eventually it stayed fixed...

| Re: Airbag Failure Warning Light Be aware, I had the AA out to mine for a sensor warning light and he told me that if ever the airbag warning light came on pull over and get towed to a dealer because the Stilo is the only car that when the airbag warning light illuminates theres a likelihood the bag will inflate.

| Glutton for Punishment | Re: Airbag Failure Warning Light Philmgro, don't listen to that AA bloke, that was a load of crap. If you read the Stilo CD (bear in mind it is all based on the BOSCH EBD II, fitted to BMW's etc), if an Airbag component is suspected of failing, the Airbag Node is deactivated completely. It's quite the opposite; have a collision, and NO airbags will be deployed.

Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: (0) | Re: Airbag Failure Warning Light Firstly, airbags are a 'fail safe' system, which means if they fail, they will be deactivated and hence can't operate. I've had this problem a couple of times, first time a fiddle under the seat sorted, but second time the dealer need to clear the fault.
