Angry MPG Read Out

Hi all

I was drivin about this evening and had the mpg reading thing up on the dash, altho for some reason it kept giving really high readings, like even under hard acceleration it was reading 30-35mpg which is so not right.

Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas what it could be, ive so far put it down to the amazing thing that is Fiat electronics and hopefully when i use the car tomoz it'll be back to normal

Cheers

Matt

Re: MPG Read Out

I believe it is trip averaged so even under hard acceleration, it won't make much difference as it will be averaged over a large amount of time, it's not real time as I have read anyway.
I may be wrong.

Exclamation Sounds like...

Its fooked, if you had it set to instantaneous, however, if you had it on average, refer to Paul's post.

Re: Sounds like...

instent would be changing every 2 seconds or so, had it vary between 18mpg upto 98mpg while average would just sit there at the same level and only make a change after about a minute if the aceleration was kept on heavy

Re: Sounds like...

Best you'll get on a Stilo is 99.9mpg. But on a lowly Idea you can get over 120mpg! Downhill mind.
