Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: (0) | Re: Stilo JTD Engine Problems? Is it possible to coast in gear? Are you coasting in gear, with the clutch dipped? That won't be good for the clutch, and it sounds like its doing nowt for the engine management.

| Thanks for your reply, the clutch pedal is not pressed and I'm in gear, just not accelerating driving along in gear as soon as I press the accelerator again it stops juddering, also if I depress the clutch it stops, it only does it whilst in any gear without accelerating?? Can anyone work that one out because it seems my local dealer cant??

I think what he is implying is that what is happening is your revs are so low the heavy flywheel is what keeps you going and stops the car stalling. What sort of speed is this at? I know my JTD doesn't like coasting at too low revs, for example its not happy in 5th untill 40mph. This is the case on several cars I've driven.

| Q400 Driver | Re: Stilo JTD Engine Problems? James, I've had a similar problem, though not juddering. It's happened twice now in my first three days of ownership. For example: If I turn into a sidestreet, 2nd gear as I enter the street I am not accelerating, foot is off the gas. When I put my foot back on the acclerator, nothing happens and I think the car is struggling. However, if I lift off the pedal and then reapply, the engine is fine. I think my problem is the accelerator (drive by wire) not registering my pedal the first time. Bit scary really when you consider the potential for danger that could put me in. I'll get it looked at when they fix the ABS failure light (persistent) on Wednesday.
