| low oil pressure warning Hi guys, I have a 2004 Stilo 1.6 Dynamic. The odometer reads 13000 Km / 8000 miles. For some time I have been experiencing, although not every day, "low oil pressure" warning ping on start up in mornings. I have checked the oil level to see the level is normal. After ping, "check o.k" appears on the screen. Anyone had similar problems or any advice?

| Re: low oil pressure warning Yup I've had this. This was all tied up with the fuel level sensor faults I was getting just before the 'check OK' message. I got this message about 5 times. I checked my oil and it was a bit low TBH. It was just before it went in for a service and the oild was changed and refilled anyway. They also changed my display cluster because they though the fue level sensor fault was connected (it wasn't as I'm still getting it). I'm not sure whether it was the new cluster or the oil top that cured it in the end but I never got it again after this. There was no mention of this in the manual either. Mines in a 2002 1.6 dynamic by the way. The Stilo is notorious for these little electrical faults. My experience with the dealer is that they are clueless and don't understand the complexity surrounding the electrical systems. If you're absolutely sure your oil level is ok (mind check from cold and on a flat surface - no offence I'm sure you already knew that!) then I can only suggest taking it to the dealer. Let us all know how you get on. cmc

| I had this on my 02 1.6 as well. Every time it went off just after the 'check ok' stage. Mine was also not low on oil. Eventually after the cars first service oddly enough it stopped doing it. As long as you check the oil level every week( to make sure it's not losing any ) I'm sure it's just a sensor fault. Dealer SHOULD sort it. If it ever comes on when driving and stays on make sure you stop immediately ( again no offence - I'm sure you're sensible enough to know to do that)...

| Re: low oil pressure warning Well I have a lovely story to tell about low oil pressure ![]() About 3 weeks ago I started getting the message, so I checked my oil which was fine, called Fiat Toomey, they told me to call the AA out as it could be a electrical failure ! Whilst I was on the phone to them I booked my first Service. I didn't call the AA out. I lodged a complaint with head office ! Who called me back and basically said as I had booked car in for service they weren't going to do anything ! Had car serviced today and guess what I have a faulty Oil sensor, that Dealer does not have in stock and I have to book in for this to be replaced. I so love my local Fiat Dealer

| Re: low oil pressure warning Be carefull guys. I've got an Abarth and I noticed that I kept getting an oil pressure light come on, especially if I was going round a sharp right handed corners. I looked it the book and noticed that it says "Max. engin oil consumption is usually 400 grams every 1000km." Now even if you use just half this amount 200g per 1000km between 20000km services, as my car is, you will use 4000g, thats 4kg. now thats clever as the abarth and jtd only hold 4kg. the 1.8 holds 3.7 and the 1.6 just 3.5. ALWAYS top your oil put! It stopped my warning light comming on. You'd be propperly FCUKed if you ran out
