(T) knocking noise coming from front n/s wheel????

hi ive been hearing a rather loud knocking noise on my front n/s wheel when im going over a little bump in the road i also done a little test were i turned the wheel left and right while driving making the suspension dip a little and all i heard was knock click bang knock . i have a feeling its my suspension but i dont no im usless with cars any ideas thanks.

I suspect I might have a similar issue, is it possible to jack the car up and feel for play in the bearings?

I'm with ffoxy on this one - sounds like the droplink is goosed Easy and cheap to replace though

is it a job i could possibly do my self. the most technical job ive done is a alternator on a fiesta so if its harder than that i wont bother lol took me ages to do that. thanks 4 your replys

You can do it, easy access with the wheel removed the droplink is mounted vertically, about 6 to 8 inches in length with a bolt and bush at each end, apply some release fluid a few hours in advance.

and last but not least were can i pick up the parts from is it a fiat dealer job or any corner parts shop??

Drop links are about a tenner from shop4parts. at that price you might as well change both sides. Assume the lhs will go quicker due to roundabouts.....

Had the same problem with my 02 30,000 mile Abarth. It was a broken front spring, these are weedie items acording to the dealer it is a common fault.

Absolutely correct, but the poster didnt mention any difference in ride height.

cost me £15 and did em meself, needed a second jack under the anti-roll bar on drviers side though
