Where can I get a CD changer?

As the title really!

I'm after the standard Blaupunkt 6 disk changer that goes in the glove box. Anyone have one, know of someone selling one, or know anywhere else I can buy one from?

Cheers

Re: Where can I get a CD changer?

They are 5 disk & can be usually found on ebay, however a lot of people change the standard radio/cd to mp3/ipod compatible which is the cheaper option and also upgrades sound

You know, about 10 minutes after posting that first post, I noticed the ipod thing!!! Looks better and means I dont have to mess around with the glove box fitting!

Any info on that, what the best ipod adaptor is?

well i love my alpine AInet connecton, you have 100% full control over the ipod from the headunit and the sound is superb. depends how much you want to spend really but i can recommend alpine for all things ipod.

This Alpine kit, does it come with a cradle etc.. is it a tidy install?

Just a plug in and go?

Re: Where can I get a CD changer?

Dumb question but do the changers work with Connect +. If they do can you leave the map disc in and use the changer for music. It's so annoying not being able to use nav and listen to cd at the sametime.

That's why I got mine - so I could leave my map CD in all the time!

The only gripe is that the changer isn't MP3 compatible

Hi there,

I'd like to change my cassette head unit (original factory fit), to a single CD head unit rather than getting a changer installed. Does a FIAT original model exist which could be installed without a fascia plate? I'd rather that than buying a branded head unit in a fascia plate if possible. I've had a look on ebay but can't see any.

If such a thing exisits I will be patient and hunt one down. If not, I'll just get a branded standard unit and a fascia plate.

Cheers,
Steve

Cool is ebay the cheapest place to pick one up and how easy is it to fit. Do you have to get the top glove box fitting seperatly or do they generally come with the changer??

Good question. The top glove box doesn't look big enough to house a cd changer too.

Is there more space behind when you pull out the original inlay?

You need to buy the correct glove box lining that has the mount for a changer.

Neither are mine.

or

Thanks, Barry. Do you happen to know if FIAT ever made Stilos with a factory fitted, in-dash single CD head unit? That's my preferred option to replace the cassette head unit as I listen to radio mostly, but occasionally play a CD.

Re: Where can I get a CD changer?

1. yes very very tidy install all behind the dash, just the ipod connector in the glovebox (no its not there when i leave the car if theres any thieves reading). plug the ipod in and an alpine logo comes on the screen of the ipod and your ready to go. with my system you need the seperate ipod controller to go with the headunit but it all fits nicely behind the dash.
2. yes there is loads of room behind the "top glove box" i dont know where you would get an inlay from though.
take a look at my photo gallery i've taken some pics for you. http://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/sho...y.php?cat=1899

Re: Where can I get a CD changer?

Thanks!

Would still prefer an in-dash single CD head unit (Fiat original) if possible, but will go down the changer route if necessary.
