| Resetting service interval Just had my stilo 1.2 52 plate stilo in for its MOT and 6th service, even tho only 49k on the clock. Had it done at a local car dealer (non fiat) and it set me back 290quid, cause it failed a few things ![]() Anyway when i left the dealer, I check the on board computer and it was still sayin service due in 5days.So i asked them and they said that it wouldnt reset and it was also readin as high oil pressure. Anyone suggest how i can resit the service countdown and whats with the oil pressure, as I dont want to pay them more money to look at it. Cheers guys Ali

If you've got a local Italian specialist near you, they should be able to reset it. They did with mine anyway and I saved a good £60 from a Fiat dealership for the service.

And yeah, I'm quite happy with my local independant and my cars still running strong at 79k. I honestly don't see the point in spending £80-£100 per hour labour when you can get the exact same work done for about £40 per hour. Or better still, do some of it yourself. Edit: Oh LOL! I just found their £69.99 service. Yeah, just a oil and filter change, wipers and top up of other engine fluids. For about £100 I can get all fluids replaced in the engine and not just topped up, plus spark plugs/HT leads and air filter replaced.

If your happy with a independent garage then as I said thats good (I have worked at many & know many of them in my area so i'm not against them, also many are good friends of mine) but there comes a point when you need tech backup, access to manufacture litreature which is available but at a huge cost which the dealer has to budget for/have anyway so its pretty much commonsense in the majority of cases a dealer will be more expensive. So often was the phonecalls (up to 10-15 a day) we recieved for assistance from non-dealer garages that the reception staff is under strict orders not to allow these calls to the service department due to the mentioned huge costs involved so why should the info be given away free.

| It's about GO! not SHOW! | Re: Resetting service interval T14086 has pretty much covered this question but I have to say I'm rather dismayed more people don't consider the service reset as an integral part of the service (at least by any commercial concern). After all if, whilst paying for a service, the service manager took you aside and said they hadn't done all of the service because some parts were a bit too difficult for them - then I'm guessing you wouldn't be very impressed ![]() I've had 3 services on my Stilo and on each the service indicator has been reset. Nationwide Auto Centres did the first 2 and on both occasions had to take my Stilo to the local main agents to get it reset (I certainly didn't pay )The service manager did rather wise up on my 3rd visit and obviously recognized me "...and before you say anything!......No! I'm not paying to have your service indicator reset this time" ![]() I left on good terms but this time had the Service carried out by a local Fiat specialist (and made sure the service reset would be included before I left)I really don't see the issue - especially as pointed out by T1 - main dealer FaitCare prices are pretty reasonable anyway and even the cheapest includes the service reset
