The route I took was to offer the old engine to the garage/dealer that does the job. Obviously, this only makes sense if you give the job to a Fiat specialist garage/dealer which I certainly would (useful to ask if they've ever changed an engine before too). It can be quite useful to them for spares and it's best to negotiate a fixed price for fitting the engine on that basis before they start.

| performancestilo.co.uk | Re: the bottom end is going!!1 just thought i would give you an update: we finished off fitting the engine to the punto last night and it runs great. now to sell it and use the money to fund the stilo. just need to think of a price to sell the punto at? if i started stripping the jtd engine down now would it be ok do you think? i was thinking about taking the intake manifold, intercooler and the like off to clean them out and then store them until the new engine is ready to te fitted. | ||

| It's about GO! not SHOW! | Re: the bottom end is going!!1 If you want something to do then why not check out the bottom end and maybe fit some new bearing shells. Can't see it lasting long but then you can't end up of any worse off and it might make it mobile.
