im not sure which motor is in yours but they the only 2 1.9 diesels.

there is a ulysse 2.0 diesel as well

my other breaker has no deisel fiats, but has a 51 plate alpha 166 for £1250 with front end damage

im also looking for a punto 1.2 8v engine so i can build a run around until i get the stilo fixed/sold.

You're starting to talk from where the sun don't shine.

It'd almost certainly failure of one of the big end shells - and whilst it would be very interesting to know what caused it - it doesn't follow that it's directly related to what oil has been used. Verifying is fairly easy - just examine the bearing shells on the other 3 connecting rods and if there's NO sign of wear at all then it's got nothing to do with the oil.

As soon as Fiat get to know about the RedDot remap or GSR induction then any warranty on the engine has just gone out the window. On the other hand, Fiat aren't going to be concerned that stilosporting has used a top quality Castrol oil (assuming the API spec is still correct)

his car is way past warranty so wtf that got to do with any thing
even if it wasnt the oil that caused it this time castrol is still crap, and i will still always advise not to use it

....but it was a rather stupid of you suggesting it was the make of oil that was the cause when the engine's barely been looked at
