Clutch Gone

For about the past two weeks my clutch has been very jerky when pulling off. But today i was driving back from work came up to a corner and changed into second and nothing. No bite just revs in whatever gear you put it in.

Could it be the Clutch Slave Cylinder or do you think the clutch has completely gone before i go and get it sorted.

thanks

Stu

Re: Clutch Gone

When my slave cylinder failed, the pedal went straight to the floor... If youve got any pedal travel, then it must be something more serious

Re: Clutch Gone

It may be that the friction material has come away from the friction plate - so when you press the clutch it squeezes the unit together allowing gears to be selected, but the torque is not transferred from the engine to the input shaft of the gearbox.

You need to have the gearbox removed and the clutch inspected / replaced most probably, 72k is around the mileage of failure TBH.
