how to change lower suspension arm

I've done this as a seperate thread for ease of searching in the future.

Is changing a lower suspension arm a DIY job or is any special kit required?
Could someone write a brief step by step for me.

thanks

Re: how to change lower suspension arm

Hello mate,

You can do it yourself, fairly easy job....... (now i'm doing this from memory as i sold my stilo a few months ago so cant go check exact sizes, but have done a fair few)

1, Jack the car up, (support on axel stands)
2, Remove Wheel
3, Undo the 13mm bolt that secures the ball joint to the hub
4, Use ball joint separator or appropriate tool to remove ball joint.
5, Undo the bolts holding the anti-roll bar to the lower arm
6, Undo the 13mm bolts that secure the front mount of the control arm
7, Undo the 19mm bolt that secures the rear of the control arm
8, Remove control arm

The do the reverse to put it all back...lol

Hope that helps,
Alan

Drove a motorbike for the first time in 30 years tonight. A Bonny! (Triumph Bonneville) Bike was nearly as old as me. Still buzzing
Forgot how bad the brakes were

Hehe. I took the motorbike theoretical exam when I was serving time in the Norwegian army. Then after testing the bikes, I put it on the shelf. Something told me this was going to kill me. So I never took the license...
