Question Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve on an Abarth

Hi,

i posted a message in the Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve guide but it seems to be broken so i can't view my post.

Where can i find this on an Abarth Selespeed or is it even possible to do?

Thanks

Cool Re: Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve on an Abarth

Just follow the induction tube up to the throttle body which is this..[ this a 1.6 but the abarth is similar]

And then follow the guide for cleaning..job done..

Re: Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve on an Abarth

just one contradiction on the guide never open the inlet control valve with your finger or any other tool you will destroy the servo mechanism. just have someone revving the car and use inlet fluid not wd40. The inlet fluid is better cause it also removes the gunk from your inlet manifold.

You're just too heavy handed Stilatos
It's just a geared motor so you can't destroy a servo motor by carefully moving it

Treat it like you would your favourite girlfriend and it will open just fine

Question Re: Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve on an Abarth

Has anyone done this on an Abarth, because if it is where it looks like it is in my engine bay, i'm sure i can't access it!

Eh? It's in almost the same place as the 1.6 as illustrated.

haha very true.. fine paint brush and a bit of time with some cleaner will do the trick!.. spent a good 20 mins cleaning it on the 1.6 and had a rock steady tickover since

We found the hardest part is getting the induction tube of when doing induction kits because the clip holding on the tube is nomally a pain in the butt to undo as its right under the ecu..other than that its plain sailing..

I think you're unlucky. On mine, the bolt on the jubilee clip holding the main tube on is easily accessible. Yours seems buried...

Re: Cleaning Your Inlet Control Valve on an Abarth

I just done mine yesterday (abarth selespeed) after my car stalled a few times under idle,

Was dead easy, and I simply removed the battery cover to let me move the induction pipe up and out the way more.

Took about 5 mins
