OBD 1.6 Connector - Where is it ?

Hi,

I have a 1.6 Dynamic, 2002 vintage. I've recently bought an OBD reader, and I can't locate where to plug it into the car !

Its the usual D type, 8x8 pins. I've looked around inside the fuse box cupboard, but I can't find a loose cable or connector on a circuit board to plug it into. On the right side of the fuses, there is a large black plastic connection, with wires coming out of the top - this looks like it should be unplugged, to plug the connector in. But ... something tells me I'm doing something wrong. It must be a stand alone connection point, I can plug into.

Where can I find it ?

On a different note, I have an OBD-DIAG diagnostic reader, which handles both the ISO and KWP 2000 protocol. I'm sure the Stilo uses ISO (I hope so !).

Regards.

Re: OBD 1.6 Connector - Where is it ?

it is under the fuses behind the panel on the right side of your steering wheel (in UK, mine is left in the Netherlands...)
it is a black, fixed 16 pins female connector on the grey body-computer which is connected to the back of the fuse box ....

Look towards the top (above all the fuses) and towards the rear.

A torch makes it a lot easier to find and make sure you plug it in the correct way up (can be quite a push the first time - a slight smear of WD40 helps a lot)

Re: OBD 1.6 Connector - Where is it ?

Thanks for all the help. I'll take another look tomorrow. It sounds like its fixed into the plastic housing, and not hanging around on the end of a cable. Which probably explains why I didn't find it - I was looking for the wrong thing.
