advice on where to go for electrical repairs Manchester/Preston/Lancaster

Hi Everybody, please be kind I just drive the car & I love it but I cannot maintain it (;>

It is a 1.9 tdi stilo on a 51 plate (I am assuming you might need that info???)

I need to sort out:

faulty socket on reverse light which keeps blowing the bulbs
faulty airbag sensor in passenger seat
back driver door lock (doesn't always lock with central locking
oh and then there is the alarm on the computer which rings every single time I put my foot on the breaks ........ Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

My brother works for a parts agent and can get me the parts at a good price but Fiat (who are the only people I know) want to charge the earth to fit them.

Does anybody know or even do these type of things on a fiat in the manchester, preston or lancaster area..........

It is due mot end of june so want sorted a.s.a.p

Many thanks
Di

Re: advice on where to go for electrical repairs Manchester/Preston/Lancaster

hello, got same car as yourself, same problems.can recomend a superb company, name is dave edge auto electrical.these are bosch agents.but are old school sparkies.for an example,i had an airbag fault,as normal fiat were crap and didnt want to know, took it to dave edges, charged me 1hours labour to diagnose and replace part, which turned out to be the squib,or in our terms clock spring coil behind steering wheel.only prob he,s about 45 mins from manchester,in a place called northwich.tel 01829732295.hope this helps ,seth.

Re: advice on where to go for electrical repairs Manchester/Preston/Lancaster

Please read and help...several issues:

Firstly, does anybody know the part number for the airbag sensor in the passenger seat. Fiat cannot find one without stripping the seat down...imagine the labour cost.

Where is the cheapest place to get a window wiper motor?

My Passenger back central locking does not lock...any body got any ideas..

Thanks
Diane

Why on earth can't Fiat parts find a part number? That's ridiculous. It's hardly difficult- airbag system- passenger seat- there it is

I replaced my OCS in 30mins why don't you try yourself? Stilo guids show how i did it. Labour costs wouldn't be so much for 30mins work if you can't. OCS is different part numbers for 3 or 5 doors, can't imagine why.

Wiper motor? Ebay or scrappies

one door? both doors? on key fob? internal locking switch?
