Schumi Paint - difficulty obtaining?

Calling Stilo Schumacher owners. I'm trying to get touch-up paint for my new Schumi. FIAT dealer tells me 'cos it's a Ferrari colour, it's not listed as a FIAT part and therefore not available. Anyone found a solution?

Re: Schumi Paint - difficulty obtaining?

Looking up the paint code was the first thing I did. But dealer says it ain't on any list of FIAT paints. And FIAT parts UK confirm this. And the cost of a Ferrari touch-up stick doesn't bear thinking about..! Any other ideas?

Get it from whom? Do you mean a Ferrari dealer?

Re: Schumi Paint - difficulty obtaining?

check under the bonnet, theres usually some sort of code or name. its a foil sticker on the underside of the bonnet. well this was the case in mine. after spraying they have to say what it was done in. even if its a name, like 'ferrari flame red'
halfords can mix this up for you for a lot less than ferrari. with a code it would be very simple as ferrari have a few variants of red despite them all looking the exact same. there is a standard ferrari red which could do it
there is wee charts with a patch of colour and a hole in it so you can set it against the car and compare

2 things: make sure you compare in good light on a clean panel
and talk to the people in the store and see whos good at mixin, theres usually a few people that 'can' mix paint, and 1 r 2 people that are 'good' at mixing paint. eg: theres 6 in my store who 'can'. due to experience i would onli have one mix who is 'good'

hope ya find it
