I have acquired the correct ecu for only supporting the steering wheel and passenger airbag. However, I have read that "In the control device there are saved specific data of the car (vehicle identification number and airbag equipment), which makes it almost impossible to build in a control device of a vehicle of the same type without code translation". Is this true, I won't be able to use this new ecu? | |
Plug it in and see what happens. Let us know.
Most cars allow you to change the airbag
ECU without too much difficulty or reprogramming it. This is a stilo though and I fear it probably will complain. I wouldnt be surprised if the airbag
ECU's are all the same and the body computer stores the configuration for the car.
Why not do as I suggested before and just connect a 2.5 ohm resistor across the airbag connector under the seat when you unplug the airbag The
ECU will think the airbag is there and not complain. What's more your curtain airbags will still work and you will have no problems with swapping the airbag
ECU.
