re: MAP sensor fault - but it isn't? [throttle body clean]

The MAP sensor is more to do with economy when your up in the revs and you'll find the 1.6 just drinks the juice if you have MAP fault code recorded as it ignores the MAP entirely

It really sounds like thats a red herring. Your poor idle is more likely to be your throttle body inlet valve again (see Stilo Guides if you haven't already) or pre cat lambda sensor. Your engine should hold a steady idle even with the MAP totally disconnected. At idle your MAP just sits there at around 30kpa, pretty boring really

I'd clean the throttle body inlet valve again
Re your MAP, I'd put some contact cleaner on its connector, clear the fault code which also resets the ECU and see how you go

See if you can find someone that can hook up and give you running data of your MAP and Lambda at tickover

As you're smelling burning then check the MAP sensor wiring too doesn't have any damage or is shorting to ground

throttle cleaned out and this is the results... one vid shows idle and one shows revs on to idle... so it was the TB idles spot on now...

Sounds sweet now

Nice to see that rpm gauge rock steady on tickover again isn't it. Should find it's a lot smoother on the initial pick up from low revs and burbling along in crawling traffic should be a breeze now. Poor thing was really struggling before
