I think that you must have been very unlucky, as there don't seem to be many others on here with the same story.

They're supposed to give you a refund if you don't like the map.

Are you telling us you decided to keep the map even if you couldn't tell any difference whilst driving (sod the rr results - if you can't feel any difference at all whilst driving then what's the point of having a remap)

Or are you saying they refused to wipe the map and give you a refund?

rr was not done till way past the 14 days so no refund was offered, at the time i had induction fitted at same time the noise fools your brain into thinking car is preforming better

just telling it like it is,

when i got my map i new not a lot about tuning on a 4 stroke as i always only done such things on lambrettas.
i belived what i was told by people who was then staff on this site.
since then i have spent a lot of time speaking to a lot of respected people about 4 stroke tuning, some who are on the forum and a lot that are not, some that do it as a job and some just for the fun of it, and found out that a lot of what i was told was crap.

how many people who say rr means nothing and use come to you mappers do you see in the racing world?

Re: Stilo JTD, is it worth remapping???

Surely everyone/anyone can take their car to a RR and prove/disprove the success of the map or not. Cutting through all the tuners claims or crap the RR proves one way or another if it's a job done good.

If they have a beef with it they could get the tuners to sort it out or refund, an option they all offer.

In my case I had it done by Angel, I took it to chipped uk for a RR and Jason said and I quote "very nice results". Now that being the case lets imagine they use that map on all Stilo's; why would anyone be dissapointed with it. They promised me nothing, they delivered a lot. Dantheman had his done on the day and achieved even more but there were no guarantees by Chipped UK. The OP was asking for the benefits, not horror stories.

They wouldn't refund me, but they offered to remap my car again on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road for free with their updated mapping which is apparently now superior to Red Dots.

Dunno if I should take them up on their offer.

this is why competition is good in the mapping world. the company look to improve on what they have to be a better option over another company.

now if only the prices were similar all round.

personally i would only have a remap on a rolling road now. regardless of what company i used. then the figures can speak for themselves.

You wanted your car re-mapping and if they will do this with rr as well, would be worth doing.

Well I've already paid for a new remap from Red Dot, so if I get Angel to redo it then the £200 I spent on the Red Dot map will be wasted.

And you might end up with less power as well ..stilo abarth at one r/r day ran with 159bhp after AT map..owner was totally shocked at what was discovered..

same crap they told me too, then they re set ecu before doing a run with original map so when new map was put on on the day it showed a very small increase, but after ecu had finished its learning i had less than i started with, so lost a day plus the cost of petrol to get there

at least with reddot and other places you can pop back in a week or 2 after the map and get another run an see what you have after the re learn, because they are there all the time.

tis daft to have to use a place where you have to pay nearly double, then also pay for your own rr runs to see what you have in the end

its best we give the full story, the more info with facts the better choice people can make, saves all the angry PMs staff get when they chose the wrong place that they have seen a member recommend and blame us for it

I don't know what to do, they said the rolling road that they will remap my car on is better than Red Dot's because it doesn't use run down to calculate inertia losses which is apparently better, I don't really understand it.

And they said they will pay for my fuel/time to get there and pay for my decat section as well so it's really tempting to take them up on their offer.

Great, heres some very definite facts around AT if anybody's interested.

My car is producing 144BHP/254torque following Angel tuning remap.

Rolling Roaded at Chipped UK with documentation.

Second remap following wipe at dealer which Angel came to me to put it back on at zero cost.

No stories, just substantiated facts if anybody has doubts about re-mapping their JTD.
